Border
forsythia display medium to dark green color above and lighter
on the underside during the summer. The foliage holds late
into fall and is green to yellow-green. Sometimes the border
forsythia displays purple tinges over the base yellow color.
Border forsythia exhibits a brilliant yellow color arranged
in clusters of 2 to 6 flowers with four lobes. The blooms
are very showy and they last from 2 to 3 weeks. The border
forsythia is one of the first plants to bloom in the spring.
It is adaptable to many soils and is easily transplanted and
established. Border forsythia perform best when placed in
full sun to light shade. They are also tolerant of many soil
types and urban conditions.
